History

Shannon Emma Lynn Thurlow was born on September 15th, 1967; her father, Henry Thurlow, was the CEO of Thurlow Lumber Mill Enterprises and her mother, Anita Thurlow, was a socialite with major ploy in Stone Creek, California. The youngest child and only daughter she joined older brothers Emmet and James Thurlow into the legacy of the Thurlow clan.

 

The miraculous and yet tragic story surrounding Shannon’s birth started before she was born when her aunt Miranda Porter arrived in Stone Creek looking for Anita. This was when Benjamin Lyons entered the lives of the Thurlow family and created chaos in Stone Creek. Having gone after Miranda and putting her into the hospital once, Benjamin sought out the Thurlow’s for a second and last time. He attacked a very pregnant Anita Thurlow and left her for dead. Benjamin kidnapped young Emmet Thurlow and led the police and Henry on a wild goose chase that ended with the death of Emmet. Shannon was brought into the world by doctor Jeremy Joplin and reunited with her mother who was recovering from her attack. The news was kept from Anita until she recovered. Upon learning of her eldest son’s death, Anita became overprotective of her newborn baby girl.

 

Growing up, Shannon was sheltered from the outside world and spent the majority of her childhood inside the Thurlow cottage with her mother; on the rare occasion she was allowed to visit with her father at the office in the Now Town district of Stone Creek. This gave her cause to want to invest in the family business, unlike her brother James. From the time she started elementary school up until high school Shannon was home-schooled. the only other children she had the privilege of seeing were the Wilkinson children; Gideon and Isabelle, whom she formed a close bond to. Unable to resist curiosity she convinced her parents to let her attend Stone Creek High as a freshman. Shannon would be outside of her element and relied heavily on James, Gideon and Isabelle to guide her.

 

Shannon and Gideon’s friendship blossomed into a flirtation over the summer, but things ended when she was introduced -- thanks to Isabelle -- to Patrick Sutton, the quarterback of the football team. She was captivated by the older boy and his confidence around campus. they soon become a couple and her status amongst the popular kids skyrocketed. Isabelle helped Shannon join the cheerleading team as well. the confidence that Shannon had once lacked started to fade away as she was no longer the sheltered little girl she once was. Soon, however, she would be pressured into sex with her boyfriend and her sheltered upbringing began to be tested. Isabelle often intervened and helped Shannon keep her voice amongst the popular kids and she continued to insist Shannon not fall into their peer pressure. Her older brother James was also over-protective and began turning down rumors of Shannon losing her virginity to Patrick. He threatened Patrick to leave Shannon alone but this caused Shannon to fall deeper into Patrick’s urges. Finally, she felt ready to take their relationship to the next level and they had sex while his parents were in Paris, France. Patrick began to warm-up to Shannon and helped her become untouchable in the halls of Stone Creek High. 

 

One weekend in 1982, a recently graduated Isabelle Wilkinson came home from college for a visit and accompanied Shannon to a party that Patrick was throwing while his parents were out of town. The girls arrived to the party just in time to catch Patrick showing the entire student body the sex tape he had made of the first time they had sex. This devastated and embarrassed Shannon and she broke things off with the playboy. Isabelle aided in the help of Diem Joplin to get Patrick expelled from Stone Creek High. Even though Patrick was to face child pornography charges, his parents were able to pull some connections and get him out of the states and into a boarding school in Europe.

 

By the time Shannon was a junior in high school she was able to steer clear of any other scandals and found solace in a guy named Peter Andrews. The two of them were able to have a relationship away from the social politics of high school and planned their future together. Not long after the two started dating, however, Peter went missing and then later re-appeared with bruises on his arm and a busted lip. He lied to Shannon and told her it was a mugging. Shannon’s school work began to become affected by Peter’s constant absences at school. So Shannon asked Diem Joplin to help find out what was going on with Peter. When the two girls stumbled over the truth about Peter’s abusive alcoholic step-father, Shannon enlisted her father in helping. After Peter ended up in the hospital, police chief Grady Wilkinson was able to arrest Peter’s step-father for the crime and he was sent to jail. School life became rough for Peter and since his mother needed help paying the bills, he decided to drop out of high school. Although Shannon tried to stay by Peter’s side she became busy catching up with her school work and had to pick-up extra curricular activities just to maintain her grade average. Peter’s step-father was released from jail and his mother took the man back, this caused Peter to start living on the streets.

 

Finding out what had happened, Shannon asked her parents to take Peter into their home. They agreed as long as Peter return to Stone Creek High and finish school to get his diploma. Shannon was now a senior while Peter had to repeat his junior year. Shannon was on-track to graduate early and even earned herself a summer internship at Thurlow Lumber Mill Enterprises, which she made sure her father didn’t give her any special privileges. Peter was beginning to feel left out and once graduation time rolled around Shannon insisted she stay in Stone Creek and attend the Community College. This angered Peter, who didn’t want to hold her back, so he broke-up with Shannon and disappeared once again -- leaving her heartbroken and on her way to Cuttlebone University to earn a Business Marketing Degree.

 

Although Shannon was pursued by many men, she never quite got over Peter. In 1986, while returning to Stone Creek, she heard the news of Peter’s death in Cuttlebone City. Depressed and upset, she later found out that he had never really left her side and found a place to live in the city where she went to University.

 

Shannon would return to the family company and later that year she relocated to Stone Creek. She took a position with the Marketing team and insisted that she earn her spot amongst her peers. The eager Thurlow woman would work day and night and eventually became the Advertising Advisor for Thurlow Lumber Mill Enterprises. While her father was meeting with Mathias Jurado upon expanding the family business outside of the states, Shannon started up a flirtatious relationship with the young man. Henry and Thurlow Lumber Mill Enterprises absorbed Mathias’ father’s company and began work on Thurlow-Jurado Overseas to develop steel products. Shannon would later move to Paris to oversee the production of the new branch and married Mathias in 1989, they had their first child, Aidan Elliot Jurado, the same year.

 

They welcomed their daughter, Imogene Lilliana Jurado into the world in Summer of 1992.

 

While Mathias was overseeing most of the steel production. Shannon started doing research about a rare blood diamond that she wanted to use to help Thurlow Lumber Mill Enterprises compete with the rise of other companies. In the Summer of 2002, Shannon invited her niece Kirsten Thurlow to Paris so that she could learn about other cultures. Although Shannon had a strict policy about leaving the house unattended, Shannon and her cousins were able to sneak out on a couple of occasions. Kirsten had met Charlie Sutton that same Summer.

 

Shannon continued to do research about the blood diamond. Along with her mother, Anita, they began to put together a branch of Thurlow-Jurado Overseas so that Shannon could nurture her newest project. Unbeknownst to Shannon she was putting herself in danger the closer she got to uncovering the true power of this diamond and found herself at the center of a deadly feud. Things between Shannon and her husband, Mathias, wasn’t at it’s best when he kept probing their adult son, Aidan to get more involved with the family business. Aidan was head of security at Thurlow-Jurado Overseas. Although she felt closest to Aidan, she still had a nagging feeling he was hiding something from her. In 2010 Shannon was able to obtain some of the rare blood diamonds and began testing them out. However, in 2011 someone broke into her labs and forged her signature in order to move the precious cargo of the diamonds. Before Shannon could be privy of the crime she was involved in a freak car accident that claimed her life.
